David & Photography

David has been photographing professionally for over 25 years, and has a wide range of experience. Most recognized for his striking portraiture, he is known for technical perfection, and unique ability to capture the essence of his subject's character through connection. Whether he is shooting portraiture, wedding, food, fashion or street photography, he always brings an obvious undeniable passion for the art into his work and can't seem to put a camera down.

David grew up learning photography from his grandfather, an avid photographer and engineer, who had photographed Europe during WWII as a Lt. Colonel in the armed corps of engineers responsible for demolitions of the Nazi effort who lugged large format and other cameras around with him. When David was eight he received his first camera, a Mickey Mouse shaped 110. Soon he was photographing all sorts of things that he'd find in his life. When David turned 14 he got a Canon A1, and began to practice photography more seriously especially in the northern California area of Carmel, Montery and Pebble Beach, photographing landscapes, personalities like Ansel Adams, and the iconic automobiles associated with the summer events there. . Later in life, David attended the highly regarded School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, as well as RISD during summers, and Pratt for continuing education in design. He also maintains engagement with the professional photographer's community, and is a member of associations such as the PPA.

Cooking is more than a hobby, but yet another passion.  David has also been involved in Aikido for 30 years, as student and instructor.
